While working out in the gym or elsewhere, we need to be properly hydrated. Not too much, or you will lose your muscle pump, just the right amount to keep you hydrated throughout the workout. Our body depends on water to survive. We have to hydrate every cell, tissue, and organ in our body so that it can work properly.
For example, our body uses water to maintain its temperature, remove waste, and toxins, and lubricate our joints.
How much liquid is required for an average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate?
The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine has determined that an adequate daily intake of fluid is about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men, about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women.
